Flying and want to get your bike there safely? Don't want to spend more than 150$ on an expensive bike suitcase and dissemble your whole bike? Want to make the packing in less than 30min? Then here is your way to do it!
What you need:

- 1 cardboard box in which a new bike get delivered in (get it at your dealer) and some extra smaller cardboard pieces - free

- Bubble-Wrap or similar products - free in any product delivery you get

- Material for stuffing - for example your beach towel, shin guards or sweatshirts. basically anything big you need to take with you anyway - free

- plastic bags to put your beach towel in - free

- Duct-Tape (preferably heavy duty) and some cable strap - 4$

- Tools/Screwdrivers to take off your pedals and handlebar - lend it from a friend or bikedealer if you don't have one.

- 30min of your time, 20min if you have a friend helping you.
Now to the setup...
...remove your pedals and wrap them in a seperat sheet of bubble wrap.
...remove your saddle.
...remove your front wheel and the handlebars (the whole stem is the easiest). Wrap the handlebar in bubble wrap and let it hang down slightly without making any nicks into the cables. Then tie it to the fork in such a position.
...stick your bike into the box and cushion the area beneath the fork a bit with the loose cardboard bits.
...stick your front wheel into the box as well - take the axle out for seperate transportation. It's best to point the brake disk away from your frame.
...put your cushioning material in plastic bags and cushion out areas next to the rear derailleur, the hanging down handlebar and any other section you see fit.
Close the box and tape it shut. Tape the edges a bit to prevent them getting torn off if they get caught somewhere. Also tape the bottom edges a bit - if they decide to push your box around or set it out in the rain.
Voilà! Your all ready to go!
